Finished leather can usually be purchased by type of cut. In Lebaran, the skin can include all animal skins or certain areas in it. Based on the type of project being worked on and the desired performance characteristics of the finished piece, it can be helpful to know what pieces are available. Here are some types of animal skin pieces for making Indonesian leather bags :
1. Whole Leather Cut
Whole skin includes all the tanned and tanned skin of an animal. Because it covers all areas of animal skin, the skin you get will range from softer areas with various stretch characteristics, to areas of thicker, stiffer skin. The range of skin thickness and weight will vary across the skin.
2. Side Leather Cut
The side cut of the skin is a cut in half of the entire skin, cut lengthwise down the middle. Since this covers at least a portion of the area of all cuts of animal skin the available skins will range from softer areas with varying stretch characteristics, to areas of thicker, stiffer skin.
3. Shoulder Leather Cut
The shoulder cut of the leather skin comes from the shoulder area of the animal. These areas are generally firm in texture, but malleable and flexible.
4. Double Shoulder Leather Cut
The leather double shoulder cut comes from the animal shoulder area as well, as is the leather cut shoulder. This double shoulder leather cut cuts the entire shoulder area from animal skin. This area is generally strong, but malleable and flexible.
5. Fold Leather Cut (Bend Leather Cut)
Cut the curve of the skin starting from the spine towards the abdomen, towards the center of the skin. In this section there are some of the best leather available in leather sheets, the main sections generally leading to the back side before the butt. This section is suitable for various leather products, such as branded men’s leather briefcases and branded women’s leather.
6. Double Bend Leather Cut
A double fold cut of skin starting from the spine area towards the abdomen, towards the center of the skin. These are some of the best leather available in leather, the main part generally goes towards the back side before the butt
7. Butt Leather Cut
The leather butt cut originates from the leather hind legs, runs around the buttocks and up towards the spine. This is the thickest and strongest area of the skin. The butt cut makes this leather great for thicker items like genuine cowhide belts.
8. Double Butt Leather Cut
The leather double butt cut starts at the back of the leather leg, runs around the buttocks and works its way up the spine, on either side of the leather. This is the thickest and strongest area of the skin.
9. Belly Leather Cut
Cut the belly of the skin starting from the left or right edge of the skin. Animal stomachs naturally expand and contract when food and water are consumed. This makes the belly skin slightly softer, and stretchy, than from other areas of the skin. Although not considered prime leather, belly cut leather can be used for a variety of skin uses.

Double cut belly skin starting from the left and right edges of the skin. Animal stomachs naturally expand and contract when food and water are consumed.
